Al Samaliya Island, one of the many islands off the Abu Dhabi coast, is a tranquil nature reserve featuring flora and fauna native to the country, as well as exotic species such as emu, ostrich, rabbit, wildfowl, and graceful gazelle.

Aside from an animal sanctuary, Al Samaliya Island features centres that teach equestrian sports, camel racing, fish breeding and honey making — giving a unique first-hand insight into some of the industries that built the country. Samaliya Island is an attractive location for students. Collaborating with Emirates Heritage Club, every year they organise a summer event for students who are enthusiastic about the UAE heritage and culture. There are multiple activities that attract female students to Samaliya such as Handicraft workshops, Al-Talli, Al-Sadu, and Sef Al-Khos, as well as cooking classes.
